The Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program is a world-class vocational training program for medical graduates wishing to pursue a career in general practice and/or rural and remote medicine in Australia.
The program involves a three to four-year full-time commitment. Funded and managed by the Department of Health, the AGPT program is delivered by Regional Training Organisations (RTOs) across Australia, including GPEx which delivers the AGPT program in South Australia.
The two endpoints of the AGPT program are the Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) and the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). You can read more on how GP training works, what training qualification options are available to you and the training pathways and locations that will help you become a great GP.
