At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Describe common abnormalities of the full blood examination (FBE) and their implications.
2. Determine when to refer a patient for specialist haematologist consultation.
3. List red flags for serious haematological illness on history, examination and blood testing.
4. Develop a plan for safe monitoring of the patient with asymptomatic and mild single cell line abnormalities over time.
This event is for GPs, Registrars, Nurses and other Primary Health Care Professionals and has been allocated 4 Category 2 points in the RACGP and ACRRM QI & CPD Program for the 2017-19 triennium.
